written while in planes, trucks, boats, by candlelight and even once in a canoe!
please ignore the poor grammar, that takes thought (and spell check) and these words are written usually in haste and in the excitement of the moment.
if you've ever wondered what it might be like to take an african safari, this is one account, of what one was like. i truly hope you will enjoy reading and even feel a sense of place.
it must be noted, this book is appropriate for all ages, with the exception of pages 47, 48 and 49.
as mentioned, it was written in the moment, and while in africa, some of those moments can sometimes be terrifying. so please be warned, it may be best to skip those (language) pages, ahem. in the interest of authenticity, the entire book was scanned.
besides the lovely people and wildlife that we met, the main characters throughout the book are: chuck, my husband, lindy, my sister, kary, the fourth member of our party, who joined us in victoria falls (the first time for us to meet her) and myself, lori.
lindy standing, chuck, and i ~ the intrepid travelers
and now safari!
What a wonderful idea this is. I'm so looking forward to taking the time to enjoy reading this Lori...savouring it ....It was always my dream as a little girl to go on safari in Africa. I think it was watching all those romantic black and white films with beautiful actresses like Grace Kelly that started it all. I would devour any book I could find in the local library that was related to the subject.
ReplyDeleteSo I'll begin reading this now...and anticipate reading the journal of the journey to come....
I hope you both have a wonderful time...
Bon voyage
Deb
Lori this is such a wondeful thing to do. I have gotten to page 5. I think this will make up for you being away for so long :) I'll be back later to read some more. Again that you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Lori for sharing your wonderful African adventure ... I am so enjoying reading your journal pages & it is evident this magical spot holds a special place in your heart as your pages are written with love and passion ♥
ReplyDeleteWishing you another 3 weeks of happiness (and journal writing) xo Deb
i can't wait to read this!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering...when did you add the photos and stickers, etc.? Did you take them with you and add them as you wrote or did you leave space for them and add them later?
ReplyDeletei'm so sorry, i just saw this question. everything was added as i went along, the printer is small and portable and makes the 2 x 3 inch sticker photos. thank you for asking!
